Founded in Montreal in 2010, LIDD began with a clear mission: helping companies make smarter supply chain investments through data-driven warehouse design and operational excellence. What started as a boutique consulting firm specializing in distribution center design has evolved into a global supply chain consulting organization delivering strategy, technology, automation, and implementation services across North America and beyond.

A pivotal chapter in that journey began in Atlanta.

At the end of 2022, LIDD made a strategic investment in the region by relocating Marc Ménard from Montreal to Atlanta to lead the firm’s expansion efforts across the Southeastern United States. His mandate was clear: establish a permanent presence in one of North America’s most dynamic logistics markets and position LIDD for long-term growth.

The timing was ideal.

Atlanta had emerged as one of the continent’s fastest-growing hubs for distribution, e-commerce fulfillment, manufacturing, and supply chain innovation. The city’s strategic location, world-class transportation infrastructure, thriving business community, and exceptional talent ecosystem created an environment where supply chain transformation was not only possible, but it was also becoming a competitive necessity.

What initially opened doors were LIDD’s traditional strengths: warehouse design, facility optimization, labor productivity improvement, and automation planning. Companies sought practical guidance on how to expand capacity, improve throughput, and prepare their operations for future growth.

However, as client needs evolved, so did LIDD’s presence in the market.

Today’s supply chain leaders are no longer focused solely on buildings and equipment. They are equally concerned with software, data visibility, automation orchestration, planning, analytics, artificial intelligence, and digital transformation. As a result, LIDD’s Atlanta practice has expanded well beyond facility design to encompass warehouse technology implementation, WMS selection and deployment, automation strategy, business intelligence, software integration, and end-to-end supply chain transformation.

This evolution reflects the broader transformation of the firm itself.

While warehouse design remains embedded in LIDD’s DNA, the company has become increasingly recognized for its ability to connect physical operations with enabling technologies. Clients rely on LIDD not only to design facilities but also to design the technology ecosystems that allow those facilities to perform at world-class levels.

Today, LIDD’s capabilities span supply chain strategy, facility design and implementation, warehouse technology, digital transformation, automation selection, software implementation, analytics, and continuous improvement. This integrated approach enables the firm to help organizations move seamlessly from concept to execution, ensuring that operational and technological investments are aligned with business objectives.
